Finding the Feminine

I have been working with a life coach, Michele Brookhaus. In her soft-spoken, unthreatening way, she leads me to see situations in a new light.  She has observed my tendency to approach challenges from the masculine. She suggests this adaptation on my part has led to psychic tension. She thinks it causes me to have trouble moving in the world with ease.

What does that mean? Am I man-handling my problems and my projects, trying to wrestle them to the ground? Yes, that's exactly what it means. She has given me a number of exercises that are so foreign to me I immediately forget what they are. I have to refer to my notes to figure out what a feminine response might be to a situation I am in.

So what is the feminine? It is openness, receptivity. After 61 years I have come to believe that my creativity and power comes from being open to people and the moment. I love the noun conception and the verb to conceive. It's the feminine in all of us that gives birth to new ideas, new souls, and to the divine.
