Pre-Occupied

I have an idea for a play. Lights come up slowly, like the sun rising. The stage is packed with small tents. There is the sound of people sleeping, some are stirring, and we hear the sounds of a large city waking up. We hear footsteps and a woman walks across the stage in front of the tents. She is dressed in an expensive suit; she is wearing high heels. As she nears the last tent stage left a man lifts the flap and peers out. She doesn't see him; he sees her.

The man is mid-30's and the woman is late 20's. She has a leather bag with a computer in it. She looks at her smart phone as she walks briskly past the tents. He says, "Nice shoes." She hesitates but continues walking and as she passes him mutters, "Nice tent." And then she snickers. She turns around and says, "You know, I really don't understand what you want. But I do know you're not going to get it by sleeping on the plaza here in your tent."

He says, "I want those shoes."

"You want these shoes? You're mocking me."

"Yes, I guess I am. In a way. Mocking you. Mocking your shoes. So how much did you pay for those shoes?"

"Oh, you think I shouldn't have these shoes? I work hard. I earn enough money to buy nice shoes. And why am I even talking to you? I have to get to the job where I work hard and earn enough money to buy these shoes." She turns and begins to walk away.

"Yes, you do. Have a nice day Miss?"

And the dialogue continues with the guy in the Occupy movement and the girl who makes enough money to buy really nice shoes. I think there might be something here.
