The Sensual is Essential

On the last night of our trip to France, hundreds of people waited on the broad sidewalk and the narrow boulevard in the middle of the Champs Elysee. They were waiting for the lights on the trees along this famous avenue to illuminate. We we in Laduree buying macaroons (more about those amazing little delights later) so we missed the actual moment. I don't know if they came on at once or, as I imagine and think I might relate to add drama, in succession. All I know is the silver white lights meticulously strung on the symmetrical trees was a spectacular sight to see. To feel really.

I am no expert on the French, and I was only there for a little more than a week, but it seems they create life moment by moment. The sensual is essential and carefully attended to in France.

More on this idea later. Just wanted to begin to understand the impact of this journey on my heart and mind.
