Away in a Manger



I didn't include a picture of the kitchen in the last post. It doesn't look as intimate as it really was. Here are Madeline, Eric and Michael in the kitchen. Behind them on the wall is the 10th century manger from which the animals ate their hay! It's at about thigh level so I don't think you can see it.

The other pic is the lamb stew. It was called a carbonade (I imagine that means cooked over coals). The Roman soldiers made this stew in their encampments!
