Birthday Litany of Blessings

I celebrated my birthday yesterday, I mean my friends and family celebrated me. How grateful I am for the outpouring of love I experienced on my 52nd birthday! I feel the need to make the list.

It's long: I received a hand-made card from my Aunt early in the week; a singing a happy birthday message at 7 AM from my partner and beau Michael; an enthusiastic birthday song from my nieces, Emily and Meghan; several birthday calls from my sweet sissy, Mary; a birthday vanilla latte from Michael; a birthday call and deep thoughts from daughter, Kathleen; an elegant bouquet of 2 dozen red roses from Michael; a happy spray of pink, yellow and peachy roses from my mom, dad, sister, brother-in-law, and nieces; several funny and energetic b-days messages from daughter Mary Margaret; two distinctly different birthday songs from my friend, colleague, and psycologist! Carrie, an email from a former colleague, a sushi lunch surrounded by the amazing people I work with-Jim, Tara, Michael, Matt, Jean, Kenda, and Sarah; a card and coupon for a spa-day with Jean-O, my long-time girl friend; a card and cupcakes from the PRBA team; a birthday message and promise of a champagne toast from my dad; Happy Birthday and a birthday polka played on an accordion by my boss; a singing voice mail from my brother-in-law Chad!, a chatty birthday dinner, a bottle of wine, an azalea, and two very funny cards from my college roomate and next door dorm neighbor, and great friends, Mary Ann and Mary; a handmade card from another Mary in San Antonio who I haven't talked with for way too long. And the celebration continues. I have a breakfast, a dinner, an outdoor movie, and a cookout still to come.

Wow. I am blessed. (And a little worried I may have forgotten something!) Thank you.

Had to update - there's still more. Cathy cheered, "Happy Birthday," on a phone mail message, Bill from Chicago called to check in, and I got a lovely card from Teresa inviting me to go for a walk! Birthday reverb!
